Operation Fit Bride

Hi guys! I send you greetings from the lovely mountains of Vermont. I'm here for the next couple of days to visit friends and attend a wedding. Very excited!

And since we're on the topic of nuptials--let's talk about mine--I'm getting married in less than one year, and like any bride, I want to be in great shape for that day. In order to accomplish that, I've enlisted the help of my dear friend and bridesmaid, Angela.

I told her that as my bridesmaid, her official duty would be to keep me in check, fitness-wise. Angela is a total fitness enthusiast, and we've had quite a few adventures together, so it was only fitting to ask her.

The problem, uh, I mean, good thing is that she really took it to heart. I get a weekly email or text now with reminders and inspirational quotes like, "Fitness is...pushing through your workout when you don't feel like it, because you know what you do today will make you stronger tomorrow".

I love it! Last week I handed her a schedule with my exercise plans for the week, and she contacted me every day to ask if I had done what I said I would do. By the end of the week, I was staggering in the office from all sorts of aches and pains, but I had worked out 5 times!

On Sunday, Angela and I did a revved up version of this DIY Bootcamp from Women's Health Mag that really kicked our butts.

I haven't ached so bad in months. AAH!

Sometimes you just need someone like Angela to whip you into shape. How about you? Do you have a fitness buddy? Or do you prefer to go solo? I think a combination of both is really good when you're trying to meet fitness goals.
